PERSPECTIVE
ON THE PRESIDENT:
"One
of the truly wonderful things about Bush and his wife is their
comfort-level
in talking about their faith in Jesus Christ, without
setting
off alarm bells in people who believe differently. Clearly, faith
and
prayer are deeply important to this President, and with great results.
They
have been a wellspring of strength and comfort and compassion for him
during
this crisis. And in turn the President has helped encourage a
stunned
and rattled nation to turn its eyes towards the God who loves us
and
can guide us through the valley of the shadow of death."

AMERICAN
INSPIRATIONS RADIO PROGRAM
Radio
stations across the country have in their hands a sample recording
of
the new American Inspirations radio program written, produced and
distributed
by The Presidential Prayer Team. Pray that many stations will
open
a time slot for this short but powerful daily feature to begin
syndication
February 4, 2002. Along the same lines as Paul Harvey's program,
The
Rest of the Story, this feature offers an inspirational story of an
individual
each day that relied on their faith in God to get them through.
From
the true life stories of presidents to business leaders, generals to
slaves,
each program reveals God's hand on America since its earliest
days.
PRESIDENTIAL
PRAYER
INSPIRATIONAL
PRAYER OF THE WEEK:
O
God, rouse us from our routine slumber. Teach us to number our days. To
confess
our sin and once again recognize our dependence on You. Teach us
to
eschew our complacency and apathy, and to rethink our false sense of
national
security. Teach us to repent of values we have come to confess as
a
nation that violate Your holiness and mock Your gifts of grace. O Lord,
as
we admit our vulnerability this day, be with those whose grief and loss
is
greater than they can say. We pray that You would guide our President
and
leaders, that You would purge our sin and protect our land. Father God,
please
stand by Mother Liberty, so that the torch she holds forth will
continue
to flame with the promise of freedom and hope. May she illuminate
our
feet as we attempt to walk in Your ways to a place where once again
the
phrase on our money actually describes the ways and the means of our
lives.
"In
God We Trust" Amen.

PRESIDENTIAL
QUOTE:
"There
are prayers that help us last through the day, or endure the night.
There
are prayers of friends and strangers that give us strength for the journey.
And
there are prayers that yield our will to a will greater than our own."
--President
George W. Bush, September 14, 2001.
National
Day of Prayer and Remembrance.
A
Moment Of Silence...
We
pray today that from the ashes will rise
a
new spirit of beauty and unity in America.
Already,
all across this nation our hearts have been
knit
together into a new tapestry of one America.
Because
of this tragedy, we have been bound together
by
a silver chord of hope and brotherhood and sisterhood.
What
was meant to drive us apart has really drawn us together.
May
we always remember.
And
so today we ask, God, that you would wipe the tears
of
all in need of comfort. That you would warm the heart of one
who
would grow cold from bitterness. That you would lift the head
of
that one who is bowed down in sadness. That you would touch
the
discouraged and remind them that love will always conquer hate.
We
thank you, God, for making us such a resilient people..
We
know that we are.
And
we pray now for the strength to rise again,
to
build again, and to live free from fear.
We
pray that you will help us rebuild our broken lives and mend
our
broken hearts. We pray that you will give us the courage to
face
evil and the faith to believe that good will never be defeated.
Hold
us close to your heart.
And
through our tears, and through our sorrow,
may
we all see a new vision of a new tomorrow.
Bless
us all and God bless America.
